I don't do things just to "rebel", but if other people oppose what i want, it doesn't bother me.

I find that I do, but given that I'm still in adolescence, that's not unusual. I've had to learn to keep a harness on it, though. Especially in recent years in my walk with Christ. I've learned to find ways to redirect that rebellious energy into better things, like my music, for instance.

I don't know. I would say I hate being controlled and I make my mind up on my own and I don't let people think for me. I would say I have a rebellious streak in me but I wouldn't say it's like my defining archetype behavior or whatever.

No, that's foolish. I'm not inclined to rebel, that's not my first thought. To constantly be under the initial impression that I know better than others is dumb. If there is good reason to rebel, then of course I will. But there often isn't.

04/08/16 7:44 pm

I'm not rebellious, simply for the sake of rebellion. I'm a bit more measured and try to pick my battles judiciously. It's cool if ya wanna be a contrarian, or be in opposition to everything, but in the end it's such an effort in futility. At some point, in spite of oneself, a rebel still has to live and exist within the framework we all share, and I know that doesn't sit well with many. It doesn't mean we stop the fight, it only means we adapt it. Be a rebel but be clever, else your first fight seems it'll always be with yourself.

Yes. Ridiculously so. It takes all of the discipline I have to override it sometimes. Of the five hazardous attitudes, Antiauthority, Impulsivity, Invulnerability, Macho, and Resignation, Antiauthority is the only one I wrestle with, and it is a constant battle. And that's assuming I even acknowledge the legitimacy of the authority, which in most cases, I probably do not.

There are two kinds of atheists

Those who simply do not see evidence for god

Those who are mad at daddy, want to do something "rebellious", and think Islam is cool

Haha. Mad at mommy and daddy. That's funny. And the "no evidence for god" is an understatement. 10,000 children under the age of 5 die from starvation EVERY day... Thank god for that right? And the Islam thing. That's just as ridiculous. There is no god. Just myths and fables that have been passed down by uneducated people that believed in magic for centuries. I'm sure Noah's ark and a talking snake seem normal and real to you but I beg to differ.

Just leave people and their beliefs alone. Gosh, intolerance seems to be the biggest myth out there. Very few who preach it actually practice it—they're just tolerant of different people than those they deem intolerant.

This is why I fucking HATE talking about religion. People get stuck on stupid talking about it. Good thing I don't know who Richard Dawkins is, I have never read any religious or anything that has to do with it except the bible (and that was out of curiosity - most of it W

celloVirtuoso buried in sheet music

Put simply, he provides the strongest argument against what atheists consider the delusion of God that science is aware of. Not strong enough to convince me, of course. I have other convictions that lead me to believe in God, ones that are more complex than I am able to explain here, and that are too personal for anyone to have written a book on. The evidence of God is personal conviction, which is why not even the Bible alone brings people to Christ. All that aside, though, I find it surprising that you don't know the name of Richard Dawkins in modern society. I would recommend looking him up. Definitely educate yourself thoroughly before making any decision regarding religion (or lack thereof).

celloVirtuoso buried in sheet music
04/10/16 3:00 pm

I also recommend looking up Stephen C. Meyer. His work explains all the flaws in the Big Bang Theory and ultimately supports intelligent design, although it's not specific on whose god is the intelligent designer.
