Don't know a way to put one picture in. That is a breadmaker. The other one is Battle Rock Oregon the view from our dinner yesterday.

I wondered if it was an ice cream maker, but it didn't look like it had the inside container for the cream that the old hand-cranked ones usually had.

Don't know what should be harder turning the handle or just kneading bread by hand. This is in at historic home in Port Orford. Drool worthy

I thought it was an ice cream churn. I remember one at Girl Scout camp that looked something like that.

I remember seeing some one somewhere before maybe in some cookbook I love to study the history of cooking

My grandparents and also my parents had hand-cranked ice cream machines. (They were both mechanical engineers; if I remember correctly my grandfather modified his at some point with an electric motor.) But they both had an open-top outer bucket, and a closed-top inner container for the ingredients. You filled the space between with ice and rock salt.

First ice cream machine was like that but the outer was made with plastic rather than wood.

My grandmother's hand cranked machine was similar, but the crank was on the side.
