Time and a half over 8 or 40, double on Sunday if it's our 7th day. Holiday plus time and a half if scheduled.
Got a check coming next week for around 132 hours for last week lol

Nope.
Salary is a double-edged sword.
I take days off when my works done, I can plan things out financially without worry of my hours.
But when shit needs to get done, when problems arise, when all-nighters need to get put in, my ass is there for the same paycheck.

Not that overtime is encouraged or really even allowed, I usually end up with about 30-45 minutes of overtime a week. I do tech support, and if I'm on a call when it's time to clock out, I'm on a call until the issue is resolved.

I get 1.5 for the first 9 and 2.0 for all time after that...plus 2.0 on Sunday! When that ask for OT I'm an enthusiastic yes.

Mandatory overtime plus on call pay. Healthcare is such a hellhole. I don't even want to be there 8 hours some days. Angels of mercy. Lmao. If you only knew...

Companies legally have to pay overtime if you work over 40 hrs. They can limit you to 40 hours though. And if you are salary I don't think it applies.

Im a classified substitute for a school district..I get paid for as many shifts that I choose to take. It's a different schedule every week. So there isn't really any overtime pay..

I voted yes, because I did for my whole career. With a few exceptions such as voluntarily working an alternative schedule, we got paid true time and a half for every minute over 8 hours in a shift or over 40 hours in a week (most federal government workers get paid overtime at a much lower rate). It was good money, but was not worth it, and in my experience, overtime never is.

Ha. No. I got paid the same amount no matter how many hours I worked, and I usually worked a lot of them, including weekends and most holidays. I was supposed to get comp time, but there really wasn't any way to take it.
But that's pretty much the life of a postdoc, in science anyway. Good thing I loved the job.
