He's an immoral socialist.
He's a socialist. I don't understand if republicans choose to believe that he's a secret communist or if they are just too ignorant to see the difference.
Socialist, which is closer to communist.
The fact that these results are not 100% red makes me weep for America. I would honestly support making political theory a core social studies course in public school at this point.
It's a conservative talking point that Bernie is communist.
His brand of policy, aka social democracy, is closer to capitalism than communism, just because communism is such an extreme, requiring a command economy, while capitalism has a large spectrum, which he's on the left end of.
This one is written just for you, Goldz. You've lately been looking at things in terms of black and white while in reality it is all shades of gray. So now answer this question: Does Bernie Sanders lean more towards capitalism or communism?
I'd say social democrat. They are on the left, but unlike true socialists don't see communism as ultimate goal.
Right. The correct name for his policies is social democracy.
They believe in government assistance and programs within a basic capitalist structure.
Someone should tell him to change his label from democratic socialist to social democrat.
Agreed....it makes him look foolish to use the wrong label. It does sound better though.
Not in terms of eligibility though. From a pragmatic pov, social democracy is probably more acceptable to the American population than any form of socialism. Provided you explain what it is 😹
And for the record, social democracy is capitalism
Oh come on neither.
Name one President this century who would completely fit either category.
He believes in private ownership of the means of production. He's a capitalist.
