Many people do, I think. I don't, if I think the program is beneficial to our society overall, especially more needs individuals, or will likely have widespread benefits in the long run for most everyone, even if we can't fathom what they might be at present (like the space program).

Of course they do. Just threaten to eliminate the mortgage tax deduction and then see the results.

I support programs that do not benefit me, but I believe that many people only support things that personally benefit them. I answered "naw" but am not clear if that's the "correct" answer given my beliefs.
