Would you be in favor of establishing a 4 day week?
I used to work a 4 day week. It's nice to have the long weekend and the 10 hour days weren't bad. As I'm getting older I'd rather work fewer hours more often. The funny bit is I generally work 8+ hours a day 7 days a week now that I'm out of the traditional workforce. Good thing I like my jobs!
Seven days is fine
A 4 -10 hour work week is more productive, reduces commuting costs by 20%, reduces traffic, reduces absenteeism and reduces day care costs for parents.
Assuming I could afford it? Yes, but I'd still like the extra money. I'd rather work all the fridays, and take the time off for holidays. That being said, I would never want any of this passed in legislation.
First I'd like to reduce my work week from 7 days per week before I'd be concerned of shortening it to 4 days.
I favor the work schedule I have at my current job: 40 hours per week (more at 1.5 x pay if approved) that I can schedule however I want. Under normal circumstances I don't have to even schedule it. I can just show up and leave whenever I want. The only real rules are that I am actually working when I say I am on my time sheet, and the total number of hours adds up to 40 unless I have been approved for more.
What do you do?
I make parts for 3D printers
Interesting. Why does that job allow so much flexibility? Are you a one man show?
I have parts bins that I am suppose to keep full. As long as I do that, my boss doesn't care when I do it.
As opposed to seven days? Sure screw up the calendar!
Assume you meant a four day work week, not limit a week to four days.
The libertarian party is looking better all the time.
I should be the only one to decide how many days per week I work.
Most of us couldn't afford the 20% cut.
7 days is fine.
I've worked 4 10s before and enjoyed having a 3 day weekend. I wish we did it all of the time, but alas it's too inefficient.
Only for capitalists. Socialists should be working 7 days a week for the hive
That won't be necessary
No thanks, I value economic output
Yes please, I value human life and creativity.
Human life and creativity are supported by economic output. Besides, the poor would be the ones who want to work all week so they can bring home a salary to feed their family.
The poor are in a position where they can't express themselves creatively because they are bogged down by the stresses of what's called "life."
Life=reality. Reality can't be changed for everyone
Why would anyone want the gov't so involved in everyone's life? If you want to work 4 days a week be my guest but don't try and make some stupid countrywide mandate
