Do you currently live in the state in which you were born?
Born in Italy, so am not even close to living where I was born.
I am so glad I wasn't born in Texas.
was born in the same town i live in right now
yes, I was born in Houston, TX
Born and raise in my home state.
Always and forever! Except maybe New Hampshire... I love it there!!!
@jesschar83, ever in new orleans by any chance? I grew up there, on and off (depending on which parent I was with).
applestar thanks for the tip. Very interesting to contrast the states I've enjoyed living in to those I couldn't wait to leave. I've lived in at least one in each category; for WA, KS, MS, and MO the labels fit perfectly.
...either people don't want to move to your state or people don't want to leave.
im moving back at some point.
born & raised all around Louisiana.. and now in FL since Katrina. I'm so homesick!!
Colorado is the best state by far.
CA -NY - FL - NC before here. Don't want to go back to any of the first four.
I'm content with Pennsylvania, but before my wife and I had kids, we were prepared to give Alaska a try if we couldn't make ends meet. Hawaii would be another possibility if we ever got tired of PA. We were married there, gorgeous place.
I'm not even in the same country!!
Yep. Az is just for me az az az i love thee
I love NY
Ft worth Texas
Then: Philadelphia PA
And: Pittsburg PA
Then: Albuquerque NM
Life story right there.
Yea, but in 3 months I'll be moving to the other side of the country for college :)
look up "sticky states" and "magnet states". very interesting topic!
It's not really so important that you live near where you were born as it is are you happy where you live now. Because if you're not happy, there's a whole old full of mostly friendly people, pick somewhere nice and move there.
Yes born and raised and still live in Ohio, worked here after the Navy.
I've been to and lived in 6 countries and 30 states... love 'em all. Met really good people everywhere, and as always, there are a few turds in the punch bowl just about everywhere. Got a family now so it's time to settle down, but I wouldn't have traded any travel I've done for anything!
I hope that everyone gets a chance to move around a little in their life, it's a big, big world out there with a lot to see. Went to my 10 year HS reunion a while back (in OR) , and many classmates have never been outside the state, some no more than 75 miles away from where they grew up.
Born on an Army or Airforce Base in South Korea. I forget which.
@bozo420: if you take another look at the map, those "bible belters" you speak of seem to be some of the ones that moved around a little... along with the north west and south west (excl Cali).
New York. <3 I'd love to travel the world, but permanently, there's nowhere else I'd rather be. :D
Born in Virginia - living now in Connecticut.
Yes. But lived in 3 others as well. TN, NJ and CA.
UCBer- why don't people like hipsters?
Born and raised in illinois (wish it were wisconsin!)
Those bible belters stay in one spot. Hmmmm.
Montana, California, Washington, now home again...so YES Montana.
Lots o'blue in the NE. & they think the rest of the country is a bunch of poorly-rounded individuals. Most of the Southerners I know are well-rounded, well-traveled & understand culture, art & philosophy much better than we're given credit for. I'm sick of the"idiot" always having a southern accent.
no but i moved to the state i currently live in when i was 2 & have lived here my whole life
Surprised by the South. Thought most reponses there would be "born and raised".
What is to be the man i am to be? Because he is to be who wants to become to be?
Born in Jersey. Moved to NC for 10 years. Came back
unfortunately not....I miss Tennessee
No, but I'm going back to new york when I move out
Born in virginia, then lived in Maryland, then washington state, then NJ, then NH for awhile, now back to NJ. I've lived here most of my life, but I'm only 24 and I know I won't stay here forever :)
Born in NJ, but have been in MD since 10th grade.
Wish I didn't. But I am only 15, so....
FL, SC, TX, back to SC, GA, IL, back to GA. Don't see myself leaving beautiful GA anytime soon, unless it's for Italy.
@us-born lots of hipsters go there thinking that they've been spiritually rejuvenated, but they really have no soul.
@US-born NM south is boring. On the other hand north NM has some neat places like the navajo reservation.
@jd123 lots if hipsters in portland
@msmarissa i want some of what you have.
