Both. What's with the lights that cover the house? It looks lazy and gaudy.

I already asked this in a poll lol
Multi all the way

Solid color for outdoors is too depressing. And don get me started on only blue or only green lights.

White mini lights on my tree...multi-colored old-fashioned C9's outside on my log home.

The trend changes every several years. I used to love the all white light look but now that multicolored lights are in style and are everywhere, I've gotten used to seeing them again and now I'm liking those better. I really like them both.

Well, I have multi color on the house, blue and white on the tree. Just depends on what I decide at the moment more than anything. But I don't like just plain white lights, I want some color.

I prefer solid in general, but other than white and don't over do it. For example, a string of blue lights on each of two or three evergreens in the yard, or over some doors and windows, perhaps with one white star...good enough. Said by someone who never decorates...

I like some new multicolored selections but the traditional ones feel too childish to me. Not sure why!

I love them both really. They have different impacts.

Both for the tree. Multi for outside. Our neighbor does alternating red and white. Very pretty.

Solid colors, but not plain white. Blue is my first choice, followed by purple, green, then red, and finally, if it's all they have left, multicolor. And never twinkling, always steady. The 60 Hz flicker of current-day unrectified LEDs is all the twinkle I need.

I've never hung or used Christmas lights of any kind, so going only with the vast majority of homes that I see using these two different schemes, I choose solid. The multi-colored lights appear too 'busy' for me, and because nearly EVERYone uses them, also a bit generic. Homes that have the solid colors, just seem (to ME!) to have a classier, neoteric look to them.

I like diversity so I choose multicolored.

Colored only here on the tree and outside. Growing up clear lights were not an option so this is my way of keeping Xmas the same with all the other changes that have happened over the years
Also has to be a lot of lights not just a strand or two. On my tree now we have 9 strands of colored lights

Solid white/clear is much more classy.

Interesting trends with democrats and republicans in this one.

Not enough sample size with a 9% different. And libertarians are in the middle while independents mirror republicans.

I think the multicolored ones have a more innocent & childlike appearance, so I prefer them.

I think the solid color lights have their place, but in general I prefer the whimsy of the season!
