Time....and a shot glass with brandy, lemon, and honey..... and sleep!

Take the prescription until it's gone. Get lots of rest. Eat Popsicles because it numbs the pain a bit and drink plenty of fluids. I'm so sorry you have that. I used to get it every year, Popsicles really do help.

Thank you , yeah I don't know how I got it I got my tonsils out a couple years ago. Because I used to get it like 6 times in a month and my tonsils were touching. Then I swallowed one, but I don't know how I got it and it hurts so bad!

I never knew how I got it either but it is a bacterial infection, that much I do know. Feel better.

Do nothing and it will normally take about 6 weeks for your body to heal. It is contagious and has risks.
Get a Rx and you'll start feeling better in 2-3 days. It's still contagious. Take your Rx until it's gone.

Was strep confirmed, and was an antibiotic prescribed? It may take a while for that to start resolving the infection, and it's mostly to prevent complications anyway.

Something like acetaminophen or ibuprofen may help with pain. Gargling with warm salt water (don't swallow it; just gargle & spit it out) can also help with pain.
