Inspired by a comment I read: In San Bernardino, all the 14 victims were staff working at a facility for the mentally ill. Would you feel less sympathy if the 14 people killed were not staff, but severely mentally ill people living there?
No, but the comment isn't even true anyway. They were staff of a public health department. I don't know the job titles of all of them, but I know one of the perpetrators and one of the victims, at least, were health inspectors. Others are listed as environmental health specialists. They were just having their party at a facility that mostly worked with people with mental health issues.
That's very true. They also held public meetings there.
