T/F There is no such thing as a sugar rush.
This one I take issue with. If you haven't eaten anything in 10-12 hours, and the doctor accidentally gives you a glucose IV instead of a saline one, you will be bouncing off the walls.
I had no idea what was wrong with me. I was ready to pull out my IV and leave the hospital. I wouldn't stay sitting. I was talking quickly. The doctor said it was saline, so I had no reason to think otherwise. It wasn't until the IV finished and beeped that I turned my attention to the bag. It wasn't saline.
So a sugar rush can be totally a thing, but it's only in really specific circumstances. The general kids-eat-sugar-and-get-hyper is mostly in parents' heads.
