Donald Trump was asked this evening what his priority would be on the United States' "nuclear triad." He clearly had no idea what was being asked. Do you find this lack of specific political knowledge troubling?
No. Who is surprised by his ignorance?
He we be no different than the uninformed current president when he started his job.
Not true, Obama is a Statesman with political presence and understandings, whether you agree with him or not.
He'll learn pretty quick when he starts getting daily security updates.
Not at all. I do not expect a president to know everything in the world. I expect them to be able to make good decisions with the knowledge that their advisors bring them.
COM - i completely understand and would normally agree. Here's the thing. Every single person on that stage with the exception of maybe two or three are intimately familiar with our nuclear military capabilities. They know the classes, the delivery methods, yields, etc. The two or three that do not don't b/c they have zero relevant experience. None.
Think it was a got ha question. Is that a Chinese gang?
Anyway he has people to handle that. very great people, the best best, world class people. His people will call your people.
He is a business man who has spent his career building. He only needs to know about a nuclear triad from the CIA or NSA if he is elected.
lol....the triad isn't some secret spy ring stuff. Anyone with even a completely basic knowledge of nuclear war would know what it means. Not NSA/CIA, more like anyone who watches the history channel.
Nah. That would require someone who paid attention in college.
I find it hilarious.
Here's the interesting part. He clearly had to be embarrassed by the gaff. The next Q was about Cruz and his "back office comments." If you can watch the exchange. I REALLY think his answer would have been different had he nailed the previous question.
Having said all that. I personally think Trump won the debate. I missed about 30 min or so though.
Who did you guys think won out in the Rubio Cruz exchanges? Rubio was getting attacked by everyone, it made his confrontations of Cruz almost get lost and muddled IMO. I think Cruz scored more points there.
I kinda agree with what was said afterwards. Both got so far into the weeds it was impossible figure out who was more supportable. One thing I've been saying for awhile though is Rubio is the only GOP candidate that has a chance. If he's the nom, i think the Dems could be in very big trouble. Anyone else, it doesn't matter who the DNC candidate is. They win.
A trump presidency isn't limited by three means of delivering our nuclear arsenal. (Hair piece IED?) You heard him, he wants more nuclear!
You're a troll, right? No one could seriously be so ignorant and blind as to ignore this very obvious trip up and not even attempt to justify it...right?
That's a Trump response there. Lol.
Thank you, I'm just like him... Amazing
Your sarcasm/satire is on point! 😂
I wasn't being sarcastic
Oh, you ride a short bus…
Haha you think you're funny😂I would just stop trying if I were you, because you are going to loose
What is getting loose?
I think you should learn English before you try and make comments
Ok. Now I know you're trolling. 😂
Haha I'm just messing with you, but I do love trump
I find his high poll numbers the most disturbing. How stupid is the American public?
Stupid enough to elect Obama .....TWICE!
I'd elect Obama again over that fool. There's no telling how much damage Trump would do to this country.
You should consider the American public electing Obama TWICE as more a complete condemnation of the state of the GOP than anything else.
The whole nation knew in 2012 that Obama was a weak candidate. All the GOP needed to do was put up something worthwhile.
Now it's 2016, can they defeat a weak Hillary? Doubtful. Again, that's a really strong condemnation on the state of the GOP than anything else
How about nobama TRUMP 2016!!!
How about no
Exactly my thoughts NObama
Even beyond that, I find his lack of specificity period, very troubling
I'm sure @Chimama will have an interesting justification for this.
STICKS - sorry. I'm one of a growing number of SOHers who have him on ignore.
Chimama: What were they speaking, Spanish? Darn those immigrants...
Also, it seems Rubio answered it just fine.
I wasn't being naive, I was being facetious. Also, it's a shame Rubio isn't trying to become the CEO of a company, or else knowing business terms would actually be relevant. Trump, on the other hand, is trying to be a politician. I'd blame Rubio for not knowing business jargon if he was trying to be a business man.
STICKS - this isn't a political term, it should be completely well known for anyone who lived through the cold war. Regardless though, the guy who asked the question actually spelled it out. He referred to the previous speaker, and said "the US triad: our ability to deliver nukes via air, subs, and missiles." He actually said it twice. Trump only had to listen to understand what was being asked.
Lol. You learn the jargon before you go to interview if you really want the job. If a normal civilian like me knew what the nuclear triad was and Trump didn't, that is a problem.
The Q happened at the 10:47 (eastern time) mark if you dvr'ed it. When asked about the triad (nukes delivered by ICBM, sub, plane) Trump started talking about the nuke capabilities of Syria, Iran, and an unknown terrorist getting a nuke.
They went to Rubio afterwards, and Rubio clearly explained what each are. Not bad for a jr senator. Bush called out Trump's ignorance in his post debate interview.
Triad...total losers...speaking of losers, it will be a Great Wall.
