This March, I'm heading out to Ramallah, Palestine, to do some work on a date plantation for a few weeks. Does anyone have recommendations on what to see? I'm planning on visiting Bethlehem and the Wadi Qelt for now.

Bring us all back as many dates as possible. Worst case scenario - bring just ME all the dates possible!

Woah! I had never heard of this place! I'll be flying in through Jordan, so I'll get to stop by here! Thanks.

I will be! Most of the West Bank, especially Ramallah, is pretty safe. Gaza is the only place that ever really incurs bombing or serious violence. West Bank is ruled by the secular social democrat party Fatah, which has good relations with Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon.

Fatah is a terrorist organization, silly. Be careful

Not secular or democratic. Enjoy !!

How is Fatah not secular? They explicitly advocate for a state without an official religion or religious law, and their leadership is mixed Muslim, Christian, and in some cases even irreligious.

As far as democratic goes, they have historically been voted in through internationally observed elections... The exception is the most recent election, but I think we would all agree that it is a good thing that Fatah prevented Hamas from taking power.

Hamas is undoubtedly an unsecular, undemocratic terrorist organization, but he same simply cannot be said about Fatah.
