I noticed houses on streets with heavy traffic are more likely to have unkept yards. If you lived on a street with heavy traffic would you be less likely to keep your yard well maintained?
However, I would not live on a busy street.
Nope, not me - the HOA has a landscaping service that handles the yard.
I live on a fairly busy street and I have a better yard than most of my neighbors. The ones above me had grass laid down so theirs looks better.
Street edging perhaps, but not the rest.
More likely. Gotta let everyone know how much better I am because of my immaculate lawn.
I wouldn't be living there as a first choice, or even second-to-last choice, and keeping the yard nice isn't going to make it more fun to be outside next to traffic or increase the limited value of my property. So why bother?
I think it has to do with the type of person that would choose to live in a house like that.
My dream house has a yard that is completely concreted.
I feel like I'd be much less likely to care.
Dad always said that if it is worth me owning, is is worth me taking care of.
Regardless where I live, I'm not the keeper I was.😏
That's not really a characteristic of where I live. The people with unkempt yards are the ones who build the highest fences, so you - in theory - can't see in. But it always spills out over the top and out the driveway and such.
No one wants to live near a main road...
I live on a dead end, but like to keep my house and yard neat and clean. I think it's kind of one of those, " take care of your things and they will take of you " attitudes.
