What is emotionally harder for you: to be madly in love with someone you see almost daily at school or work but have no romantic relationship, or get a relationship only to have a stormy breakup soon?

The first choice is my current life.

Something about "better to have loved and lost"...

Been in both situations. They're about even but the no go is really really tough

I had the second one, too. Dated a girl at age 16 who was buddies with someone I absolutely couldn't stand. I complained about it and eventually she wrote me a Dear John letter.

I've been in the no go. That was a tragedy.

It's worse loving someone that you know they don't love you back.

Yeah, even if it's only a short relationship at least you can keep some sweet memories.

Madly in love and no go. That's just a wasted chance and I hate wasting those.

Had that for years when I was younger.

I did too but I jumped at the first chance.

I'm sorry. That's the only first move I've ever made. It was great while lasted.

The problem is you sometimes cherish the possibility, the dream, so much you don't make a move because if you are rejected the dream is destroyed.

I won't argue, that's true but I'd take the chance for love in one second, regardless.

Agree, too much fear of losing the hope. I've also never really made the first move still soo....

Well, to make you both feel better, it was a horrible ending. I should have left it alone. 😕

The former. I had that for SIX years till HS graduation, with a lot of non sexual physical contact like partner exercises in PE, so I felt constantly teased, and going separate ways after graduating STILL felt like a breakup.
