I sang at a funeral today. What song will be sung/played at your funeral?
"Everything dies" Type O Negative...
It is Well With My Soul.
Faith of Our Fathers.
My Jesus, I Love Thee.
...those oughta do it. ✟
Picked up some other good ideas below:
I Can Only Imagine. (But I'll haunt the singer if they say "i-MA-junn" like Third Day does! It's /i-MA-jin/).
Ev'ry Breath you take - a slow, gentle, comforting acoustic version with just singer and 12-string guitar.
And I forgot to mention my family's unofficial hymn, Be Thou My Vision. The tune is called Slane, which comes from our old Irish clan name, O'Dubhslaine.
Best song of all.
The National Anthem.
Nobody sits down at my funeral.
Careful, they might sing the "Hallelujah" chorus! Nobody sits for that, either!
Well done. I walked right into that.
I was hoping someone would 😁😁😁
You find out who your friends are
Morning Has Broken
Bully Currington-People are crazy. "God is great, beer is good and people are crazy"
We'll Meet Again
I Can Only Imagine
Dancing With the Angels
"At Your Funeral" by Saves the Day. It's gonna be meta af.
Not many if any know this one: Desert Skies by The Marshall Tucker Band.
I used to listen to M. T. B. Way back when, whew..... quit reminding me what year this is....
I have that on vinyl!
From the play, Bye, Bye Birdy.
I've Got a Lot of Living To Do
Rhapsody in Blue
Sung by the accapella group Sweet Adelines.
Amazing Grace, of course.
Nazareth-Hair of the dog
Flight of the Valkyries
My mom loved that song and it always brought peace.
Amazing Grace. If that's not played at my funeral I will come back and haunt the people who planned it. If that's the only song that is played then so be it but it has to be played.
I was thinking along the line of "Metallica" The Four Horsemen......... AC-DC, For Those About To Rock........
I actually want it to be a bit lighter, so maybe "Friends are Friends forever" or Something like "Sing & be Happy"...Mom had that song at her funeral, so I hate to duplicate it...
None. I'm not a fan of music at mass.
We'll have Ben Carson's wife perform.
I would come up out of my grave to stop that woman from singing.
Finally Home by mercyme
I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me
The Dance by Garth Brooks.
I can't tell you for sure, but it'll be one that's a bit ironic and kind of flowy, so people can just relax a little.
"Burn baby burn" as I'm being cremated.
I like the way you think. I need to take notes.
Prop me up beside the jukebox, by Joe Diffie
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
You Raise Me Up and Amazing Grace.
I will survive-Gloria gaynor
N*ggas in Paris
God be With You 'til we Meet Again is the song I'd like played. I sang that at my grandmama's funeral.
Ron, was this a funeral for one of your friends who'd been in the wreck last week? I've been praying.
No, this was a funeral for a woman who was expected to die back in July. Hospice was called back then and she sent them home. 😂😂😂
My friend's husband had surgery for his broken hip yesterday and it went well. The collapsed lung and broken ribs are healing.
Her surviving son is still in a coma. He had a massive head injury and there is ongoing treatment with that. I will try to do better with updates on Tom's Friday polls.
Thank you so much for praying. My friend's name is Angie.
Abide With Me; Tis Eventide
Highway to hell
Happy days are here again
The clinking of beers as everyone drinks to my memory. I do not want a funeral.
For Christian songs, two would be Majesty and O, For A Thousand Tongues To Sing. I'd also like to do like in the old classic I Love Lucy episode, and have a harpist play Take Me Out To The Ball Game.
Rock this town
Fucking Hostile - Pantera
None. I've specified no funeral for my corpse.
No service no funeral no flowers. Just a cremation and scattering of the ashes. Anything more is to hard on the living folks
To either of you: how about a memorial or a wake...? A time together and celebrate or remember. It's actually very healing for many people Who are left.
Id have an extensive playlist, less talk, more inappropriate music:
• Highway to Hell - ACDC
• Going Underground - The Jam
• Stayin Alive - The Bee Gees
• Every Breath You Take - The Police
• The Final Countdown - Europe
• Countdown Theme
And anything else i can think of that would be fun to play at a funeral over the next 70 odd years
Believe - Diamond Rio
Another one bites the dust
