Are Muslims racists and slave traders? Take a look the link. It's an unusual source, but that does not make it bad. Perhaps even a bit enlightening, because the subject is getting little attention here in the US. Slavery? Link inside.

No more so than WASPs. The term they're talking about is abeed (abd), which means servant or slave. It doesn't mean black. It's used much the same way as slurs like wetback. I don't know what all the slavery bullshit is. Every country in the world...

...has outlawed slavery, so any slavery happening today is illegal. And most human trafficking victims are from China and Eastern Europe (though Nigeria is high, too). Most human trafficking destinations are in western Europe or the US.

The rest of that was a mess. So Egypt doesn't care about Darfur. Neither do we. So there's slavery in the Qur'an. It's in the Bible, too. So some important Muslim guy said black people were lesser beings. Have you read what Americans have said?

There is literally nothing in that blog post that is unique to Islam. So if Muslims are racists and slave traders because of it, then anyone who has a legacy of such things is, too. And if that's the case, we should seriously look in the mirror.

Pam. . . almost every winning civilization was "into" slavery. Assyrians, Mesopotamians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and all the rest. . . including French and Germans. And, let's not forget about the innumerable African tribes.

Muslims to be sure, but not exclusively . . . in fact, not even original!!

OP, what you say is undoubtedly true. But it is particularly ironic that black Christians would convert to Islam in an act of (certainly in some cases) racist reaction.

So, Pam, why do you think it is so quiet in here?
