At the tree lighting we attended the other day, I tried chestnuts that had been roasted over an open fire for the first time in my life. Have you ever eaten chestnuts roasted over an open fire?

Yes, many times. They are very popular at European Christmas markets. Italian Marroni chestnuts are the best.

In China, they sell them off carts in the streets. Had my first one there. I had high expectations but I did not like them at all.

Why no, no I have not. Jack Frost has been nipping at my nose a lot more often since I moved to UT, though.

I bet the chestnuts were really good.

They were! The chestnuts were some variety that was local, and they were surprisingly sweet. My son and I both enjoyed them. 😊
