On this date, 2000, the USS Cole (DDG-67) was attacked by al-Qaeda in Aden, Yemen. The attack killed 17 and injured 39. The restrictive Rules of Engagement set forth by the Clinton Admin prevented sailors from stopping it. Never forget. RIP Shipmates
