Do you update your smartphone as soon as a new OS version is released, or give it some time?
Good jailbreaks take time so I wait...
I have to cause my little boy would be ahead of me and I don't want that to happen till I turn 60
I actually don't update anymore, i'm still running iOS 4.3.5.
iOS5, upgrade from 4, was excellent with many new features and very few glitches. iOS6, by contrast, adds nothing, takes away some of the most useful features, and has enough bugs in it to keep the Orkin Man very busy. There's no need to invent a better iOS, we already had that in iOS5.
if yall hate ios 6 so much then why don't you invent a better os?
and I'm not updating since I have a dying 3gs and the new os will probably fry it... I'm getting an iphone 5 really soon though :)
The moment a jailbreak/root comes out for it is the moment I get the new OS. Until then, though, I'm usually gawking at the features.
I would update it more frequently if it didn't take 20 hours to do...
@Piso, if you have this application, you already have a smartphone...
What's a smart phone and am I REALLY sure I want or need one? My cell phone doesn't get reliable reception most of the time ...and that's in central Mass!
I procrastinate and wait as long as physically possible :) Doesn't matter to me!
No rush until iOS 6 was released. In the past I would wait until the jailbreak for that version was released so I could reinstall iblacklist. With the new "do not disturb" feature built in iOS 6 I have no need to jailbreak so I installed it the first day of release.
It does it automatically.
I always update as soon as possible, like I updated my phone to iOS 6 the day it came out as soon as I got home from school.
Yes update when it comes out
Still on ios4 on this iPad...
I like to update is whenever I know one is out right away. Glad I did!
Light up- done :) I was just annoyed I had to go through another step when I had it to begin with! lol
On the same day, if possible. I always end up doing the update eventually, so I 'cut' myself quick and get it over with!
Mama3, there is a YouTube app you can download from the App Store
iOS 6 is very stable, runs a little better than iOS 5 for me
I like the iOS 6 so far. Only complaint is that the YouTube app got deleted. Grrrr..
I don't wait too long, but I usually wait for the initial hubub to die down so the servers aren't as packed.
You can still open google in Safari, choose other, then maps. Click the arrow to send the bookmark to your home screen. Walla, Google maps in iOS6, the way it should be. You can do the same for YouTube. Spend enough time with MSFT and you learn workarounds, formerly not needed for Apple. Progress.
I let others figure out the kinks first. Once they're fixed I get the update.
In IT you have to test on self first... iOS 6 seems to disconnect from wifi when not actively used. Also need to log in before connection...
Not updating...I want to keep Google Maps.
iOS 6 SUCKS!!!
I haven't updated to iOS6 yet, if that answers your question. :)
The only problem I've found (so far) with iOS 6 on iPod touch is that the App Store seems to crash a lot. But I do love friend finder.
I normally going around asking people if there are problems
If it ain't broke...
I also had to delete several apps to download the update, and now I have to reinstall the apps I deleted...
32GB iPod Touch. I was actually heading out to school and clicked "Cancel" for iOS 6 and it started updating anyway. That was not a fun event.
I have a 32gb iPod touch. I'll be fine with it for a while.
Updating my iPhone as we speak :)
@dirtyjforpez He means flash as in flash games/video
I didn't even know there was an update until I saw a video on YouTube about iOS 6
Not enough storage
Damnit 8gb iPod touch !
Of course I update it. Who wouldn't?
My phone is jail broken so I can't get updates. I don't mind though, everyone always says my phone looks badass!
I don't think you get it dirtyj
Omnitarian, if you go to camera, hit video, then turn the flash on and it keeps it on. Do people really not know this trick? Its kind of a waste of time to download an app for me.
Not ios 6. Wait until its fixed, lol
I wait until I hear that it is compatible with SOH.
I like to wait and hear if there are any crazy bugs... Like if everyone's contacts get deleted when they update, etc.
I'm on the bleeding edge with my iOS, but never my OS. Wish I hadn't gone to iOS 6 though because it messed up Puffin (app that let's you view flash on iPhone) and I need it!
Yes and I regret it. The new App Store and maps applications suck. If I hadn't used iPhone before I would think ios 5 was the upgrade to iOS 6. Just garbage.
No, don't like beta testing.
