Like A Supersad True Love Story! The movie hasn't been made yet, but the book is more accurate than either movies.

We won't go to hell due to lack of oil. We'll go to hell upon crop failures, and superstorms and wildfires that destroy the insurance industry. What would happen to the insurance industry right now if the Feds didn't bail out the insurers after Sandy?

Haha! That's what you guys said 4 years ago, before we ended Iraq, killed bin Laden, and grew the economy for 30+ months.

Both result in ending up in the same situation.

Dunno. Minority Report seems more likely. We're already doing it, just not to that level. Predictive policing, etc.

We have enough oil in America alone to fuel 20% more than our current consumption for 300 years

After Obama totally wrecks the economy, devalues the dollar and our enemies attack while we have a weak president it's gong to be Mad Max a lot earlier than 100 years from now.

Yes! Overpopulation is going to destroy the world! Quick, let's eliminate all breeding age females...really?

People choosing minority report have wishful thinking. Our resources will only last so long. Maybe Obama focusing on alternative energy will help us sustain a little longer, but ultimately the day will come.

Wow, did you people never take a science class? Overpopulation is very real and is the driving force behind climate change and just about every other environmental issue.

Sadly, the electronic knowledge is the first to go, almost instantly. There will be more left from the Romans than from today.

More like Snow Crash (Niel Stephenson); everything is a franchise including sovereign gated communities. We'll definitely have the aspect of Minority Report where ads market directly to you because they know your purchase/credit history based on your biometrics.

Mad Max: Within the walls of Congress.

Minority Report: Everywhere else.

I hope neither, I would rather Mad Max, and I suspect it will be Like Minority Report.

Repubs that weren't up for reelection will be so if they want their seats they better wrk w/ the prez & the senate or the tea party will be done, even though it basically is already.

As an anachronistic relativist (I just made this up) I think it'll all be pretty much the same. sure technological advances, but same old people fighting over the same issues in different context.

roybiker, that's the funniest thing you've written. climate change has happened many times and we're still here.

except humans weren't there and it corresponded with mass extinctions! that's the problem!

A positive Utopian society is what many people hope for but conflict, danger is what most hope for in a movie. If everything runs smoothly, you think something is wrong and wait for evil to rear its ugly head. If it doesn't you want your money back.

I'd almost rather have mad max...Minority Report is so intrusive I think I'd prefer the savagery. A country girl CAN survive ...

Climate change has happened many, many times in Earth's history & we are still here. The Little Ice Age which went from the 16th to the early 19th century was probably more devastating to mankind than anything we are facing across the next century.

Even if we wipe out two thirds of all life, there will be those that emerge from their sub terainial bases. It would be horrifying, devastating and traumatic. However, those that survive will sign peace treaties once they realize the stupidity of it. We have electronic knowledge that persists.

Asimov and Clarke have some positive Utopias even if Asimovs foundation trilogy starts with a dystopia.
