Insurance is way too expensive. Hospitals and medications are also way too expensive. Insurance is still a lot less expensive than the cost of a disease like cancer or aids that requires hospitalization and expensive medications.

It's not a right, but it's not destroying us either

Welcome to the Democrats world of SOCIALISM. Your insurance went up to cover the costs of someone else's SUBSIDIZED ObamaCare policy.

LMAO! This couldn't be more false. People who know nothing about how private insurance works should make assumptions, nor should they spread the hearsay of other ignorant fools.

Who pays for subsidized policies?

JayDiddle Indiana

The government subsidizes, which is tax-payer money. However, the actual policies are sold by private insurers, so the subsidies have nothing to do with the rates of these private insurers. If anything, the additional business should push rates down.

CORRECT. Tax payer money is my money. Here's the problem you and other liberals do not grasp. The increase in required buyers are people who have cancer are high risk or are dying so their expenses cause everyone to pay more. Thanks

I don't think you understand that you pay for everyone's healthcare, regardless of whether they have insurance or not, unless those people are paying cash for their care. People without insurance history are those who cannot afford it, or refuse to

JayDiddle Indiana

...purchase it. Those people then historically use hospitals as their primary care, which by law cannot turn them away, no matter how much they owe or how much they're behind or not paying. When those people don't or can't pay their huge hospital

JayDiddle Indiana

...bills, the doctors and/or hospital take it as a loss, which equates to a tax write off, which equates to tax-payer money going to subsidize it all anyway. This is what the forced insurance is to prevent; at least they're now either paying for part

...or all of their insurance, else they're paying an extra tax penalty, which is offsetting those still leeching the system anyway. No-one wants to realize that we're social whether or not we like it. When tax money pays for anything, we live in a

You're also not getting that more people buying insurance, even if more people are using it, means everything balances out anyway, because there's more premium to cover it. Your argument that it's old, dying, cancer patients is invalid, because

Besides what Jason said (all true, we (ER) can't turn people away & the avg bill is $10k). Another point is, if your server or cook at a restaurant, store clerk or whomever is sick & don't have health ins = poor, part time - then you are sick too.

Jason, I work in the health ins industry, and ACA raised our costs, (no pre-ex), so a person having a heart attack can buy insurance while that is occurring , and cancel once he's well...there isn't an actuary around that can lower premiums for this

The "more" people "buying" insurance are the folks that are already sick, the people who are well are paying the fine/penalty because it's cheaper than the premiums . It's rigged to fail and to force us eventually into gov controlled single payer

JayDiddle Indiana
08/22/15 4:13 pm

If we were going government-controlled single-payer, we'd be there. Why beat around the bush about it? TRUST ME, the healthcare industry has some hefty lobbyists, and they aren't going to allow it to happen.

Jason, you can ignore it if you choose, but from someone on the inside, I see the results of ACA, and it's hurting people. I work for one of the "Big 3" health insurers in the country..done it for 18 years

JayDiddle Indiana
08/22/15 4:32 pm

Please explain who it's "hurting." No-one is being hurt. You clearly don't see the increased customer base, the increase in people getting life-saving care, the increase in revenue for doctors, etc. Just like everyone else against it, you're all

What matters is the QUALITY, not the quantity .. ACA has clearly lowered the quality and increased the costs all around ... Look at the deductibles on ACA plans , do you have thousands of dollars to pay before the plan pays one cent ?
