Inspired by Christian1459: My mom visited last week and commented on the fabulous "coordinated" effort of the neighborhood to NOT water their lawns. Every single one is dry and brown. Do the people in your neighborhood water their lawns in summer?

I've never seen anyone water their lawn unless they're fertilizing it

It hasn't stopped raining here long enough for the ground to dry out.

With mountain property, it would look silly to water anything.

A few do around here but they are those kind of people. Think everything they touch is instantly perfect and better than everyone else's so they must maintain it that way

We live in a MUD area that has no restrictions. I can wash cars, lawn, or just power wash my driveway and sidewalk and it's ok

Yes, but only on Mondays and Fridays no more than 10 minutes per station. Most of the lawns in our city have suffered. Waiting for the next El Niño☔️☔️💦💦

Only allowed to water 1 time per week. So most are burned. Water rationing for 30 yrs. here.

We had our "The world is ending" drought a few years ago and everyone cut back, but this year we ended up with extra water. So we water away.

Yes, and we water ours, even during the rainy days. We use well water so it's not a waste, it just goes back into underground aquifers for us to use again.

There's a sprinkler system for the whole community, so everyone' shard is watered by default. It's rained nearly every day this summer so it's hardly been used.

Oh heck no. We have a pretty tropical climate here in the summer, so they're plenty soggy on their own on a regular basis. If we watered them, they'd be swimming pools.

They shouldn't because it rains enough.

No, thankfully. It's such a waste.

It's usually not an issue here. Most times the yards do just fine without needing watered. People are more likely to water their gardens.

Some do but most around here are not, which surprises me based on the number of people claiming that everyone in California is still watering the lawn. That's actually extremely frustrating.

Why would we (we don't)? The grass will green right back up with the November rains. And if we watered it in summer, not only would we be wasting water for no benefit, we'd be wasting effort too, as then we'd have to mow it.

Rarely a need to water lawns here but this year is quite the exception.

Our city only allows watering during a certain time interval in Mondays and Thursdays due to our drought. The lawns are looking pretty ugly.

I'm still watering my lawn twice a week for 10 minutes. They outlawed anything more than that.

Unfortunately a few constantly water their yards even while it's raining outside. It's disappointing how much water they waste.

They even water (automatic lawn sprinkler) them when it's raining, what a waste.

My friend in CA engineered the waste water from washing clothes to go into her lawn. It seems to be working.
