So you're reading a fight in the comments section. Person A makes a small typo. Person B calls them out like "at least I can spell the". What's your reaction?
Depends on the person. I would let it go, not worth the time. If the person is an extra big Asshat and has been son on multiple occasions, then all is fair. Lol
I'm not a fan of the spelling/grammar obsessives on SoH. #1 The autocrapper is too pervasive. #2 this is neither work nor school. #3 get over yourself, you're not perfect either.
Person b lost the argument because he defaulted to a spelling error rather than solid debate skills.
Imma drop a "^this" right under this here comment
Typos are so common with casual writing, auto(un)correct and tiny keyboards that it seems just silly to pounce on a misspelling as if it has larger significance. For that matter, even if a person is a truly poor speller, that says little or nothing
about the quality or importance of their words. I generally cringe when I see people gloating about things like what you described - no matter who it is.
(Actually, though, my cringing starts when I notice that it's a "fight." I usually lose interest in both sides, almost immediately.)
