If the president was a politician before becoming president do you prefer if he was a senator or governor?
Senator. Governor's know nothing about running the federal government nor dealing with the bicameral congress. Totally unsuitable.
Not to mention National Security Policy, Foreign Policy, treaty making, or national defense.
Governor cause he/she has held executive office already.
Depends on what state. Many states have smaller populations than cities. Not analogous.
Governor. Nothing can replace that executive experience.
