Do yourself a favor and sometime visit Palm Springs and stay at one of the 60's style motels. Great fun with a group of friends.

Do the "No-tell motels" count? You know the ones where everyone checked in is named "Smith" and you pay by the hour.

Yes, and they're gross. No stone floors for me to sleep on, they clearly discriminate against wolves!

I used to stay at motels. Never again. I'm an Air B & B guy from now on.

Used to do road trips nonstop. Now, especially with the wee one, we have to stay overnight.

Many times.. Motels, hotels, resorts, even a B&B once.

With my cheap parents, of course, plenty of them

Quite a few. The hidden away old-timey non-chain ones are my favorites.

Unfortunately. I try to avoid them, but criss-crossing the nation on road trips makes it inevitable.

When I was very young, my parents managed one, so I have actually lived in one.
