Have you ever had to/chosen to give up your bed/room to a visiting relative?

I did when I was a kid. I didn't mind sleeping on the couch for my great-grandma. But I was upset that I had to give up my bed for my uncle because he drove drunk & crashed his truck.

Not really, I have a twin bed so nobody wants to sleep on it. I have had younger cousins sleep on my extra trundle bed though.

My husband is sleeping on the floor in our office right now do that my visiting pregnant sister can sleep in our bed with me. That's a first though, normally my guests will sleep on an air mattress or sofa.

Relatives don't stay in my home.....they get pretty lucky if I even open the door for them...

Not relatives, but friends. Her husband had recently had back surgery, so we gave them our bed when they visited.

Yes. It was my preference in my former apartment, when couples visited. My brother and his wife, and also my daughter and her husband. I also had good friends from WV visit a number of times, & they got the bed too. I didn't have any other real bed

to offer them, & I had lived on my sofa for a month once after leg surgery so I knew it was comfortable for me.

Here, though, I have a small sofa-bed, & that's where my daughter & her husband slept when they were evacuated from a wildfire.

Sort of...my best friend's sister and her friend visited once, and he didn't come out to bars to meet us. I gave them my bed, and I slept in the basement. It was oddly soothing.

I always complained and it always ends up as me sleeping on the couch

We rarely had relatives visit overnight & the only ones who did were at a time when we had a guest room, so they stayed there.

I sure wouldn't want the guest to be across the hall for obvious reasons...πŸ˜‰

Well, I wouldn't want to wake them up with my snoring of course. What did you think I meant?

All I know is I'm changing the sheets if you visit...πŸ˜‚

Actually, maybe you're washing them before you leave!

I give my bed to my parents and I take the air mattress on the floor.
