Are 24-hour news channels in general more good or bad for the nation?
Way too much bullshit. 😎
They keep th nation biased
Depends on its bias, can you imagine 24 hours of MSNBC?...
😳 🔫 💥💥💥
They have gotten into the practice of "creating" news rather than just reporting so they can get attention. This is an issue in our country that should be addressed by the people.
Agree. Ideas about how? I know that I just shut *all* news when they going into "feeding frenzy mode" on *anything*! NO news until they stop that - I can keep up to date on other stuff via my Twitter feed.
Any other ideas?
They feel obligated to fill all available time with "news" whether there is any *actual* new news or not.
So we get breathless minute-by-minute *speculation* about whatever *might* be going on, anywhere, whether it directly affects us in anyway whatsoever or not.
"BREAKING! We have *absolutely* nothing *new* to tell you, but we're gonna tell you - for the umpteenth time in an hour - *every* single minute little bit of gossip we can anywhere, from anyone,
*totally* unverified by the way & unknown quantities will be proven to be *completely* made up yet quoted as fact *decades* later even though forensic evidence has *totally* refuted every aspect of the narrative (*hands up, don't shoot)
but it is our *job* to make certain you are fully "informed" on this (while we *completely* ignore other things that will *actually* eff up your personal life for generations. You're welcome." Oy vey.
::end of rant... sort of::
In my opinion, they are the crux of the divisiveness and stupidity amongst Americans. There isn't enough news worth the national spotlight to cover a 24-hour news cycle, so to fill it, you have pundits and talking heads spouting opinions which the
common American takes as gospel. Just ask people their opinions after watching any of the national networks. You'll hear them parrot exactly what was said by the talking heads. When they can't fill time with talking heads, they take local stories
and broadcast them as national news. The vast majority of the time, they should remain local stories. Aurora, CO shooter shoots a bunch of people in a movie theater and its nationalized ad nauseum, yet when a black guy executes 8 people, including
6 kids in Houston, it doesn't get a peep. Why? Because it goes against the agenda at the time. Aurora fit perfectly into the gun control debate. The guy in Houston doesn't fit the black lives matter crap. Now, Fox News is reporting that the POW/MIA
Flag is apparently racist. Just stop! All of you! Fox, CNN, PMSNBC, all of you! Just cease to exist and do the United States a favor! Let us all go back to hearing what needs to be heard on the 10 o'clock news with our awful anchors trying to not be
obvious that they hate the guy next to him and are dressed like it's 1997. Just go away! I'm sick of all y'all!
That made perfect sense. And I totally agree. TV in general has made america stupid. When we as a nation are more worried about what Kim kardashian had for lunch than what our government is doing we have become a nation of sheep.
Appears we have essentially the same perspective on the matter! LOL!
You said a mouthful. I totally agree!
