Is Classical Music (as a whole, contemporary and historic) irrelevant to society, today?
Entertainment is not like technology. Old technology becomes irrelevant when new technology comes out, but new entertainment is different than old. Old entertainment could be better or worse by opinion, so it'll always be "relevant".
What do you mean by "relevant"
Absolutely not. It will always be relevant.
Absolutely not. It stands out as a pure form of art utterly untouched by the celebrity that has corrupted many other forms of so called music. The only reason people find it pretentious is because they refuse to give it a chance.
When was the last time pop music gave you goosebumps? Never. Classical requires you to give yourself, your body, and your mind over to it. It requires not intellectuality, but it does require effort and a sharp mind.
I'd like to here from anyone who believes it is irrelevent.
Amen, amen, and amen.
Finally someone who agrees with me. A lot of people realize that classical music is relevant, but very few actually acknowledge that it is far superior to practically every other genre.
