Some tell they daughters/nieces that their "bossy" attitude is leadership skills. While that's a positive spin, aren't bossy and leadership two different things?

Yes, but there are some shared attributes. In children, leadership skills might manifest as bossy.

Yes, but too frequently, society doesn't recognize women as leaders and strictly identifies them as being bossy; whereas a male doing the same thing(s) would be identified as a leader.

In my experience, this has proven to be more of a myth than reality. I work in a female dominated field and these women aren't smirked at for their leadership. I think a lot of people want people to think there's a problem.

Yes, bossy isn't even a good leadership quality.
