Should the carving of Jefferson Davis, Stonewall Jackson, and General Robert E. Lee be removed from Stone Mountain?
Oh, HELL no!
It's not something you have to see. We were at the park yesterday. Had to drive past everything else before we got to the carving. I don't see what the big deal is
I love that carving! I hiked the mountain and everything on a field trip.
It was a fun hike with some pretty good views. Just wish they didn't have the fences everywhere
Yeah its only bc theyre redoing some stuff
I've been to it once too.
Absolutely not.
No way! History should still mean something. We are not ISIS.
No. My family fought for the North.
Should we have a statue of a man that put our Japanese US citizens in concentration camps? I say tear down his image Mr. Obama.
Get rid of all statues of everyone. Somewhere they did wrong. Give that dopey statue of liberty back to the French while your at it.
They aren't the people we should idolize
You idolize statues? That's odd.
As you can see below I made an honest mistake about what the statue was before I read the link
Oh. Ok. Accurate history is extremely important. What is history worth if it's changed to make everybody feel happy.
Let's just rewrite history while we're at it.
Or put the history in a museum where it belongs
The carving is in a national park, which is almost like a museum.
@gow. What do you have against our founders? Their actions have you the freedom to sit here and talk shit.
Ok let's put Mount Rushmore in a museum. 🗿
Southern law - The question never specified it was at a nation park so I was mistake
*mistaken
Not national, its state my bad
Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee weren't founding fathers so I don't know what you're talking about
Southern law - now that I've read the link I'm fine with it but the wording of the question never said it was a state park
Yeah I guess I should have, thats just why I put the link.
That's the goal. Actually it a vendetta against the US.
I said this on Political's poll, No way. Those are some of the greatest military minds in US history.
I hate that they're trying to do that!
Don't care one way or the other.
No, I don't think anybody likes every aspect of our country's history, but it's dangerous to pretend it didn't happen.
Exactly^
