You walk out of a store to see someone sitting on the hood of your car with their drink next to them. Is this something you'd find inconsiderate or rude?

I better not find somebody sitting on my Lexus drinking. They wouldn't be too happy when I knock them off.

If it's in my driveway i have a problem, if it's in like a parking lot or something I would just ask nicely for him/her to get off, if they don't get off if they don't get off then we have a problem...

I was going to write a rant about everyone making a big deal about sitting on the car, until I realized they're most likely imagining this happening at their house. I was thinking about it happening in apartments that where in ghettoish areas where

OldAccount No longer active

There was a whole line of cars in front of your apartment and they just happened to be sitting on yours. I wouldn't take it disrespectfully then, and I might even let it slide in a public area, but in a house where the only car there is mine, yeah,

OldAccount No longer active

I probably wouldn't take to kindly to it. I would, however, react as if I WERE in the ghetto and they just happened to be sitting on my car.

However, if the drink was a Starbucks instead of Dunkin.....rude.

I wouldn't consider it rude. Actually happened to my brother's car when a couple of years back. A group of kids were sitting on our car after coming back from playing some b-ball at a park, they saw us walking towards the car and got off

MrEdwin Mystery

They were pretty nice complimenting the car and we stayed and talked with them for a little while.

It depends on their demeanor. If they seem to be damaging the car, very annoyed and angry. If they simply wanted a seat and sat down, sure, no problem, so long as they move so I can get where I need to be.

08/02/15 3:48 pm

Oh, and if the cup is like metal that could scratch it up I'd be a little more hostile. I'd rather they didn't damage it

If there is any possible way to quietly get in the car and abruptly back out from under their incredibly rude asses, dropping them like a sack of taters onto the greasy asphalt, I would. They are vermin, so disrespectful as to have no value at all.

JustBob Your anger fascinates me
08/02/15 4:38 pm

Ooo, interesting. If they got hurt, should the driver be liable?

Zod Above Pugetropolis
08/02/15 4:59 pm

No. I'd treat it as a case of them being really bad at walking. So bad in fact that they wound up briefly sitting on the hood of someone else's car (something no one would ever do on purpose) as they stumbled and fell to the pavement in slow motion.

Ru12bseen Ignoring the Ignorant
08/02/15 8:41 pm

If it looked like they may have gotten hurt, just pull fwd and finish the job.

08/02/15 5:53 pm

why would they sit on the hood???

GlutenPutin The First Civilization
08/02/15 8:25 pm

To be honest I'm not entirely sure but it could he something to do with the overwhelming number of cars around and the lack of places to sit in some areas, so it's become a thing I guess

biker4life Arizona
08/02/15 1:33 pm

It's happened to me before and I don't say anything, I just physically remove them as rudely as possible.

08/02/15 1:32 pm

Surprised at how many people would respond with rage. I really wouldn't mind if there was no damage. You felt like sitting and saw a seat. It's a little weird but I wouldn't care.

I think it's because people assume it would result in a dented hood.

"You felt like sitting and saw a seat."

My car hood is not a seat!

08/02/15 5:21 pm

Well I meant "seat" as a place where you physically could sit down. Not necessarily a place you should be sitting

Very strange. I think I'd say, "Um excuse me, I think you're on the wrong car." ... Id like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they meant to sit on their own car, that might look similar to mine.

I can hardly believe the stories like this, people sitting on the hood of people's cars, or opening up the pack up pickups to sit on them, or even worse, actually sitting in the car of convertibles, jeeps, or on motorcycles.
