Tomorrow I start back at eating clean and working out and I could use some help. Post your favorite healthy breakfast, lunch or dinner to help me get back on track.

Lots of good suggestions here. I would only add any diet should match your activity level both in type and portions.

I agree. My workouts will start with 30 minutes of cardio (usually the treadmill) then 1 to 1 1/2 hours of weight training. Then another 30 minutes on the treadmill or whatever it takes to get 10,000 steps in.

Breakfast needs plenty of protein... Eggs or making your own protein shake are a must!

Do you have a protein powder that you like? I have used GAT lately but I am out and need to get something. My daughter wants me to use Her Whey.

I really don't have a favorite... I do like whey in general.

I'm doing the 21 day beach body fix. It's uber easy. Tells you how much to eat and everything, five small meals. So you are constantly eating (that's what it feels like to me) and the workouts are good.

Thanks! I will check it out. I have done the 17 day diet successfully in the past.

After a week I can start to see a bit of change. I was an athlete growing up, so muscle memory is working in my favor (or that's what I'm telling myself). And I've found some good "skinny" recipes (bang bang shrimp, Asian lettuce wraps, etc)

My breakfast is a smoothie that I put a handful of spinach, a banana, blueberries, strawberries, oatmeal, flax seed, cinnamon, and almond milk. Fills me up.

I need to start doing smoothies again. Been ridiculously lazy lately.

Hmm, never put spinach in a shake before. I'm guessing you can't taste it?

I also put a chunk of fresh ginger in there. It kills the spinach taste. Without it, you can definitely taste it. I have a nutribullet. Best invention ever for smoothies.

That sounds like a nice high protein breakfast. I may have to tweek it a little to cut down on the fat content. Thanks for the suggestion!

Use egg whites, skip the toast, add a vegetable like tomato juice.

For a breakfast try..1/2 cup plain greek yogurt. 1/4 cup granola. 1/2 cup blueberries.
Makes for a healthy and sweet tasting breakfast.

I am trying to find a plain Greek yogurt that is not too gritty. Do you have a preference?

Axl752 NY
08/02/15 7:03 am

I use a granola that has extra protein, 10g per 1/4 cup, called bear naked granola, plus about 10 in the serving of greek yogurt, so about 2 grams for this meal, and about 300 calories.

Axl752 NY
08/02/15 7:04 am

Yeah for yogurt I use greek gods plain greek yogurt, has to be plain. This brand has 7 active cultures.

Axl752 NY

But with the granola and blueberries you don't taste that plain yogurt taste too much.

Sounds perfect! I also use the bare naked granola. 😄

I have never had deer bacon. Is it fatty like pork or lean like turkey?

mynamehere69 South Carolina

Super lean, but hard to find. You usually have to be a deer hunter to get it. Best bacon you will ever eat though.

I have a few neighbors that hunt. I will hit them up for some 😄

Mix till it's a gloppy batter. It's a good idea to soak the psyllium and flax for ten minutes first. Add water. This makes a huge batc

It can easily be cut. These need to be frozen after a day. The batter looks gloopy but the waffles are like brownies. You can omit the cocoa and just use water too. I love mocha.

Blueberries, any berry really. Also, most fruits taste great with it so you could probably just use any low sugar fruit.
