Inspired by a poll by Rickvee: In situations when you feel insecure, it's normal to seek the security and comfort of old ideas and thought processes. Conservatism is simply insecurity expressed.

No. You have a pattern of this

Asking questions - yes. That's a pattern I do show very clearly.

Not necessarily. Though I can't recall a single time social conservatism has ever prevailed for long

Seems like some useless talking point liberals use to feel superior.

It's just a question inspired by another question. Nothing more.

No. It's called the fight or flight response. When one feels insecure, he engages the threat or flees. He does not "seek the security and comfort of old ideas". As it happens, engage or flee is behavior that is demonstrated most often by liberals.

I understand there might be some animosity because we call liberalism a mental disorder. And perhaps liberals are trying to take revenge by trying to psychoanalyze conservatives. Get over it.

Not an actual conspiracy. It's just a question.

A tendency to stick with traditional practices versus resistance to rapid change,....is a product of experience IMHO.

To take a emotional/social situation and apply it to political affiliation is a loose correlation.

I don't think so. Political affiliation is a choice, the result of what you chose to let influence you / openness to influence, who you chose to hang out with, what groups you are a member of, etc.

That's true. We are impacted by the views of those we spend more time with. I thought your question was more emotional based. Like people who are afraid of large groups, open space, spiders, or heights.

Or people just might agree with certain conservative ideas.

Not sure about that. Progressives own the schools, pop culture, Hollywood, and major news outlets. If anything, it's progressives that fear dissenting ideas in today's society.

Fox News? Yes progressives hate it because it is the only mainstream news outlet that provides another side of the story.

Fox News provides the other side of the story? Given its consistently fans as providing the most misinformation, maybe you should have said providing A story.

If you think Murdoch only owns Fox "News" then you are wildly mistaken.

None of the other news channels are watched anymore other then Fox New. I do like Lockup On MSNBC and the drunken Chef on CNN. Guess they're getting out of the news business. The truth will set you free.

Then again, they've done surveys on the political affiliations of college professors. It's always progressives with a majority. And you've only pointed out Fox News, yet everything else has a leftist point of view.

I love it when liberals can point out one or two conservatives, like Murdoch" & try to make an example of it. They do this all the time with FOXNews. Fox is not conservative it's midstream, the problem is the rest of the media is liberal.😎😈

Take the liberals hate of Fox then look at the Koch Brothers who are very small potatoes compared to Buffett, Unions, Acorn, Steyer, Soros, Hillary's foreign donors, Monsanto, big insurance, trial lawyers, Hollywood, etc. they complain cuz there's 1.

I disagree generally. In some cases yes, but certainly not always and I would argue that it does not constitute the majority of cases. In the common context of political ideology it really boils down to what the role of government should be.
