I learned a new term today: race baiter. Is it better to confront issues or ignore them?

"Race baiter" is a term used by racists going on offense. Instead of defensively trying to convince others they're not racist, they claim the REAL racists are the ones who point out racism. Basically the 'he who smelt it dealt it' defense.

There's a stark difference between baiting the race topic and confronting/ignoring the issues at hand. E.g. CNN last week pointing out that 64% of mass shooters have been white while leaving out the fact that 64% of Americans are white.

So I'm assuming you should confront them based on the results?

So who uses the term more, the left or the right?

I read definitions from several sources. Most didn't reference a political philosophy but a couple noted conservative.

In my reading from soh, it looks like mostly conservatives.

I see race baiter used to silence anyone who tries to discuss racial issues.

The second part of your question has nothing to do with the first.

Actually it does, in the context of how the term is (mis)used here in SoH and other places.
