Huckabee said he would use the military or federal troops to aggressively stop the freedom to choose. Do you worry that leaders who are religious may seek to violate our constitutional rights in a effort to enforce their beliefs.
The question was "am I worried about it" ... not "do I believe it could happen".
Not all leaders who are religious scare me, but Huckabee certainly does. I'm actually concerned for Huckabee's mental health, because he's gone way off the deep end compared to where he's been in previous elections.
That's what can happen with this system of government that you revere and worship.
And I'm pretty sure this is taken out of context or exaggerated
Smart, you want to use the violence of the state just as much as he does to enforce your opinions. You and he are the same thing. Exactly the same.
Violence of the state? I've not proposed that.
Oh, so you're fine with me ignoring your laws?
Ok. We've had this conversation. I ignore some laws. I j walk sometimes. I speed sometimes. When I do ignore the law, I understand there could be a co sequence when I do. That's freedom. There is no violence.
The enforcement of those laws absolutely is violence. Those consequences are violent.
I just love how people point out Huckabee, whose extreme nutcase and the Republican Party as being a representative of the Republican Party. Maybe we should look at Deborah Wasserman and pick apart her views and say that represents all Democrats.😈👿
And she actually leads the Democratic Party, so that argument would carry at least a little weight.
I'm worried about anyone who will use force to enforce their beliefs, of which religious people make up but a fraction.
Switch the words "having abortions" with "owning slaves."
Nah Huck is just a loony
Hitler used Christianity to justify his ideology and laws- remember, Hitler and Mussolini were conservatives. Sadly, rhetoric and religion can be very destructive, people feel spiritually justified... I know Mao was a liberal- said it before y'all!
Hitler was probably a progressive pagan. He was an anti-Christian.
He was an alter boy. He twisted Christianity and its values to create white supremacy. He was a pagan, he was whatever worked for him- regardless, he was raised Catholic and used it to create ideas and swing people to legitimize nazi ideology. Creepy
And yes, you and I can see he was anti-christian, at the time folks thought he was a moralist and God fearing- guy was a con man.
Hitler and Mussolini were not conservatives.
Um, no. I'm worried that everyone will go to ridiculous measures to enforce their beliefs.
It's just rhetoric
How many listeners thought it was a good idea or even a legal idea?
No idea. What one says to rile up voters and gain media attention rarely translates to what they actually do (or could possibly accomplish) if elected. Campaign season is fun for the drama, but that's all it is: drama.
