Do you think President George W. Bush intentionally lied about WMDs because he wanted to invade Iraq?

I don't believe President Bush cunning enough for the deed. But his immediate entourage? Definitely!

The U.N. Released a report saying that there was evidence to believe that Iraq had WMDs. Of course, we now know that was not correct. We shouldn't judge President Bush based on what we know now, but on what we knew then.

This question assumes one believe the President lied versus telling the truth. The wording is biased.

At first I thought they disassembled them and sent them somewhere. But I think Dick Cheney has something to do with it. He seemed like he was running the whole "war" didn't Haliburton make boatloads of cash from it? Aka Charlie Wilson's War?

No, and anybody who thinks so has their head in the sand. You just want that lie to be true to perpetuate the myth that somehow one political party is better than another. And that is simply not true.

I believe he may have been led down the wrong path by the people around him, Cheney, Rumsfeld, but ultimately he is the president of these United States, it is his job to KNOW if war is a viable option, a he is doing it for the right reasons.

No. Saddam used them then shipped them off to Syria while Congress was debating about going in for a month. Still wasn't a good enough reason to go in there.

Your right breck, we all did, we were all blinded with sorrow and patriotism, if it was a conspiracy, or inside job on the towers, for us to be pushed into war, it was a masterful job. We as a country just wanted revenge after that.

I don't believe any conspiracy theories. They wanted to kill us. The FBI and NSA listened to the plot on the radio. The planes really flew into the buildings. My friends were killed on those planes. So that's obviously not a conspiracy. You're right

badattitude no place like home

That we wanted revenge, Afghanistan was obviously the place to fight them. Why Iraq? Why then? Sadam was a psycopath. Okay, so? Were his chemical weapons going to kill us? No. It was a crazy idea to go in there.

I can't believe conservatives still want to argue Iraq. bush went in there with cherry-picked intel, blew $1trillion, killed 100,000 Iraqis, & 5,000 of our men. North Korea has WMD, why aren't we there??

Even if they did have WMD's, that's not a fair reason to invade and destroy a country and its people.

The WMD program was NOT active. The bombs weren't being mass produced or hidden as bush claimed. The war in Iraq was a disaster that completely destabilized Iraq and made way for Isis. Iraq didn't attack us on 9/11.

07/31/15 10:57 pm

No, but he was certainly eager to "finish the job". WMDs and 9/11 gave him and his neo-con cronies a quick and convenient excuse to go to war, as evident by the non-existent exit strategy and failure to secure the country after Saddam.

Bill Clinton and the evidence presented gave him plenty of reason to go to war. Remember Bill Clinton wanted to play nice with the people that attacked the world trade centers the first time in 1993.
