Was your first job or working experience beneficial to you, either on a personal or professional level?
Yes. I caddied on a golf course and learned a lot of life's lessons.
Which one stuck with you the most?
The three biggest ones are:
1. You earn what you deserve. The harder you work, the bigger the tip.
2. When to talk and when to listen.
3. How to interact with people of all walks of life. From billionaires to GED grads. Straight edge to alcoholics/drug addicts.
I'm a counselor at the tennis camp I used to go to this summer, and I've learned a surprising amount of life skills. I'm really glad I took this job. :)
Both. And actually it was remarkably similar to my very last job, & eerily it was done (in part) in the same building. The technology & understanding had changed greatly in the intervening 40+ years, though.
That must be so cool to see all the changes and improvements at a level where it really impacts the things you do.
