Does religion hold any merit in society as we developed farther into the sciences and secrets of life?

I can see your point there, but there still has to be a separation.
And this is coming from a Christian.
It should be acknowledged and many people still hold religion dear in their hearts, but it has no place in the politics of a modern, multicultural country.
There is a place for religion in politics. It's an important place. Pretty sure secularist governments have more blood on their hands. Why? Easier to justify mans inhumanity against man, when there is no morality.
Wow, a serious double standard for someone who loves to quote the constitution. The government shall not endorse any religion.
Care to explain?
I'd love to hear how the founders didn't see the importance of faith in daily lives or how it was always intended to be a secularist document.
