Have you ever had a boss younger than yourself?

Yes, in two colleges where I had a student job when I was in my 40s. One of them (my photography instrutor; I was his assistant and ran the student darkroom) because my best friend ever. The others was a biology professor, who also became a friend.

No, but I've supervised people much older than myself.

How did that go? When I was a supervisor in a hospital clinical lab, there were a couple of older employees I supervised. With one of them, I think my age was seen as an issue.

It depended on the individual. Some were great. I tended to be a very hands off supervisor, and their experience and job knowledge made us a good team.

But a few, usually the ones with a host of other issues and headaches, resented it and didn't ever catch on to the fact that I was in my position bc of my ability and demonstrated skills, and they were in theirs because of their lack of the same

I know that comes off as arrogant, but there were a few who really got under my skin. They knew they weren't good at their jobs, and resisted any effort to help them because they didn't want to take help from a 25 year old.

But like I said, most of us got along well and enjoyed working with each other.
