The recession was created by the unregulated banking industry thanks to the neocon strategy of whittling down all protections put in place near a century ago to prevent such a thing happening. These myths of "job creators" and "trickle down" are lies

Our economy (and the world's) is too tied up with an "industry" that is nothing more than a nationalized Vegas, which produces nothing, and rewards manipulators. Bernie is right. A teeny fee on transactions might reign in some of this unfettered

gambling. It will only affect those who do multiple daily trades, which is something that is not supposed to be happening. It creates unnecessary volatility.

I get it. It's Hartman's Two Santa Claus theory: the neocons try to dry up funding, and it's the neoliberals (not liberals) that claim we need to bail them out.

Seems a waste of a term.

Why don't you give us your definition . . . and what the purpose of your question is.

it isn't "my" definition.

it's the academic definition.

The transition of consensus towards neoliberal policies and the acceptance of neoliberal economic theories in the 1970s are seen by some academics as the root of financialization, with the financial crisis of 2007–08 one of the ultimate results.

It's fücking Orwellian doublespeak.

Anything Ayn Rand inspired is in no way liberal. It's relabeled NeoConservatism.

it seems you were confusing "Neo-Liberalism" with neoliberal economic ideology. They're different.

"Neo-Liberalism" refers to the work of Robert Keohane and Joseph Nye, in describing complex interdependence and its application in the int'l system.
