Just an idea I had (not in favor or opposed, just a shower thought): the Constitution states "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed".... How about restricting the sale and manufacture of bullets and gunpowder?
The constitution is stated broadly for a reason and it's to allow interpretation. I agree with Zod, for now, the issue is decided.
That has already been addressed by the court, and dismissed. Ammunition is rightfully held to be an essential component. Without it you aren't keeping an bearing arms, just sticks and lumps of metal.
A better question would be 'What would have to occur to allow congress and the states to repeal the second amendment completely?"
Basically you're trying to find loopholes in the Constitution, in other words US politics in a nutshell.
Chris Rock anyone? www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuX-nFmL0II
My first thought too. 😆
