Clean energy brought 25,000 jobs, $1B+ in private sector investment, and cut consumer electricity rates by 1.4%. So why would Gov. John Kaisch sign into law a bill that freezes Ohio's renewable energy mandate for 2 years?
Ah well that doesn't make much sense then. Does the mandate require a reduction elsewhere? I assume Ohio has a decent coal industry. Maybe there was potential for higher losses there? Idk the whole story
Unless the ROI would be greater if that $1 Billion was invested elsewhere. Such as making coal plants more efficient or building nuclear reactors (if they are even allowed to do that anymore)
Because he's probe to making terrible and harmful choices. He also wants to cut medical care for pregnant women and women with cancer, among other things.
Care to prove it wrong? Check his most recent budget proposals. It's there among other things he wanted passed. Wants to show a surplus more than anything. He was good, but is quite declining.
You're not looking at the other side of the equation. Wind and solar are a net negative without subsidies, so by delaying mandates, he is reducing the overall tax burden.
The simple fact is, there wouldn't be jobs added if not for the fact that wind and solar have to be subsidized to make them profitable. The same is true for your statistic that they are cheaper. It just isn't the truth.
Your figures are true for the U.S. If people bothered to look at what was happening around the world they might have a different opinion about new technology.
