Worse way to wake up: with a large, hairy tarantula crawling across your face, or with a large rattlesnake coiled on your chest?

I kinda have arachnophobia, but the snake is statistically more dangerous than the spider and so I would take the spider over the snake.

Although it's completely insane, the spider would scare me more than a snake. I have a super irrational fear of spiders.

The face is what makes it worse! Even if it can't hurt you.

A rattle snake can kill me so... Spider it is!!!

Right! If it was a non poisonous snake, then the spider would be worse.

I would seriously shit myself if I woke to a rattlesnake on my chest. You'd hear me scream like a banshee.

Snakes are bad but I'd take them over spiders!

07/27/15 5:48 pm

Tarantulas aren't venomous so I'd go with that.

07/27/15 12:12 pm

Not afraid of either, however the bite from the snake could kill me... So I'll take the tarantula

Snake=might die
Spider=really gross.
Hmm. Tough decision.

The snake is more poisonous, I assume, so I guess that would be worse.

EagleCoder Missouri
07/26/15 5:21 pm

Nope. I guarantee that the snake is not poisonous.

Henry123 Connecticut
07/26/15 10:14 pm

Yea definitely not poisonous. Venomous tho

07/26/15 11:56 am

Tarantulas are harmless to humans so I'd definitely rather have that on me when I wake up

Henry123 Connecticut
07/26/15 10:15 pm

Not harmless. But also not fatal

07/26/15 10:46 am

Either way I'd have a coronary, no need to bite me.

Seriously? Tarantulas aren't even poisonous! They can leave a rash on your arm, but nothing else. Rattlesnakes. While 'nother story!

catpillow Florida West Coast

Spider, though It might make me frighten me more than the snake. The tarantula isn't likely to hurt me and can't do serious damage. The rattlesnake can do serious damage and could give me a nasty injury, or remotely possibly kill me.

Doopy Remedial Americanism

I think I'm quicker than the snake, but a tarantula face bite would be very bad.

rambo088 kansas
07/25/15 6:42 pm

Lol ur not quicker than a snake strike

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/25/15 6:44 pm

Why not? Snake strikes are slow compared to experienced human punches, and I'm used to those.

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/25/15 7:04 pm

Naw, bro. Rattlesnakes strike at about 8-10 feet per second. Humans hit way faster.

rambo088 kansas
07/25/15 7:28 pm

See how well punching a snake works out for you

Henry123 Connecticut
07/26/15 10:17 pm

Uhh it's on your chest, it's going to bite you... Also the spider won't kill you the snake will

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/26/15 10:46 pm

I don't plan on punching it. I plan on grabbing it by the neck. A tarantula bite around your breathing orifices is a potentially lethal problem, too.

Henry123 Connecticut
07/26/15 11:01 pm

I feel like your just playing devils advocate because you sound kinda silly

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/26/15 11:04 pm

Nope, just choosing the adversary I'm most comfortable dealing with.

Henry123 Connecticut
07/27/15 7:40 am

Except losing to the snake means death. Losing to the spider means an irritating rash...

rambo088 kansas
07/27/15 7:44 am

It's just pure arrogance lol

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/27/15 2:34 pm

The rash is less irritating if swelling where you breathe kills you...

Regardless, I'm more comfortable driving to the store than walking even though if I fail at driving I can die, and if I fail at walking, I bruise a knee.

Doopy Remedial Americanism
07/27/15 2:36 pm

So really what's just pure arrogance is you guys sitting here trying to tell me which I would rather wake up to.

Henry123 Connecticut
07/27/15 2:36 pm

That's the biggest apples to oranges comparison I've seen ever

Henry123 Connecticut
07/27/15 2:39 pm

tarantulas very rarely bite humans and when they do it causes a rash. Rattle snakes would absolutely bite you and kill you in that situation. I think it's arrogance and ignorance mixed

GenericProfile Custom Tags Are Gay
07/25/15 3:48 pm

Rattlesnake, because Tarantulas are generally aware of how much stronger humans are than them, so they usually don't fight us.

Henry123 Connecticut
07/26/15 10:18 pm

Except if it did fight you losing to the the snake would mean death while only a rash by the tarantula

moriahdanielle Des Moines, IA
07/25/15 3:26 pm

The tarantula would freak me out because it's on my face, but spiders don't really bother me. I am terrified of snakes however. Also, being bitten by a rattlesnake is more serious than being bitten by a tarantula.

Bluebie Colorado
07/25/15 3:18 pm

Tarantulas are mostly harmless and quite laid back whereas rattlesnakes are fast and deadly. If you had said black widow, that would've made it a more even match.

Zomb1ePoptart Golden, Colorado

Tarantulas are actually very docile and friendly spiders. When kept as pets, then tend to form bonds with their owners. I honestly wouldn't even mind waking up to a Tarantula in the bed.

dessy Indiana cornfield

The snake is more scary and more deadly. The spider can be knocked off easily and are not as threatening.

Somewhere in another realm, critters are asking each other:

"Would you rather have to lie down on a gigantic human's rumbling stomach or crawl across its filthy mouth?"

TheHaymaker Florida
07/25/15 12:20 pm

I've woke up with a cockroach right by my mouth once. So I can imagine the tarantula. And say the snake would be worse.

b4mytime Orange County, CA
07/25/15 12:40 pm

What the? Did you feel it, wipe it off, and then see it? How did you ever sleep again? I'm impressed...I would have freaked the fuck out.

TheHaymaker Florida

I woke up, heard the hissing and felt something by my mouth, smacked it off my face. Then had to find something to kill it with haha.

b4mytime Orange County, CA

Wow. The chirpy hissing sound of insects can be nightmarish. I avoid killing bugs (I have a humane catch-and-release device), but that's a scary story.

Cockroaches hiss? I didn't think I could like them any less.

TheHaymaker Florida

I wasn't about to play around and save the cockroach that day lol. And yes certain types can make a very prominent hissing sound, it's awful, and for some terrifying to say the least.

BamaGirl ROLL TIDE from Texas
