Pride, ego, its something that has to be done, some times parts of life suck but we still need to do them

Well my rationalization is, if I don't it won't get done.

Hope?
Habit?
Fear of the unknown of doing differently?
Lots of possibilities.

They want to pity themselves.

Sometimes it's the right choice. I helped my stepfather through his cancerous death process, which was both necessary and the right thing to do. However, it was by no means easy.

You are a good person.

I've been around death a few times. It's not fun but it is interesting. I was close to an aunt through hospice. I think she was seeing the other side. Hospice folks have interesting stories.

We relied on Hospice too. They do have interesting stories and I know what you mean about seeing the other side. It seemed to me like, toward the very end, he'd go somewhere else, come back and actually ask why he was here. It was heartbreaking.

She would point to the wallpaper & talk about the people there & how she was going with them. She knew they were there.

Wow, he never did that but it's nice to know, or believe, there's more. I'm glad you spent so much time with your aunt. You're a great person too.

I guess for me it's too much curiosity...it's burned me so many times in the past and it still burns me now
