In 6 months of Republican control of the Senate, they have passed the $T cromnibus, funded Obama's executive amnesty, funded Obamacare, and confirmed Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. Is this any different than if Reid was still Majority Leader?

Someone watched Senator Cruz's epic speech yesterday!

But exactly right. Mitch McConnell is a spineless establishment moderate who stands for nothing.

The Republicans are obviously terrified of the Democrats. If they do anything in opposition, they'll be accused of being racists and they want to prove they aren't, so the Democrats can do whatever they want.

07/25/15 4:31 pm

Kudos, Democrats. Your non-stop playing of the "racist card" for the last seven years has paid off!

What would you do without strawmen?

07/25/15 4:43 pm

Yeah. It's a straw man argument. Sure. 30 seconds on Google quickly proves it's not. Democrats and Liberal Media scream "racist" constantly!

Most of those are true, especially #4. In fact, here's Republican strategist Lee Atwater talking about how to be racist without sounding racist:

07/25/15 5:00 pm

I rest my case. That's exactly the response I'd expect. Because Republicans are generally racist if they disagree with Obama. At least, that's what has happened in the last seven years.

07/25/15 5:05 pm

There are plenty of legitimate objections to Obama's policies. It's unfortunate that Republicans so often appeal to racism.

07/25/15 5:08 pm

Straw man, huh? You've made my point in two of your replies right here!

07/25/15 5:14 pm

Not all objections are met with accusations of racism. That's your strawman. However, sadly, there is a lot of racism that needs to be addressed.

07/25/15 5:18 pm

Then let me rephrase: Republicans are afraid to stand up to Democrats for (the legitimate) fear that they'll be called racist as a result.

07/25/15 5:18 pm

Obviously not ever single opposition has been met with an accusation of racism, nor did I intend to state that. But it happens so frequently, Republicans are terrified.

I think this just proves that republicans can't govern. At least not on a national level.

Republicans and Democrats aren't that different. They're both statist, corrupt parties.

The main difference in the parties is what is said and promised during an election. Once in office, there seems to be a common agenda. That agenda includes open borders, unlimited government spending, and more government control.

Thinking there is a difference between parties is the biggest con that has been successfully pulled on the American voter.

Ironic words. I vote based on issue & candidate, not blindly down party lines. As an independent I view both parties as wanting to restrict my freedom, increase their power at my expense, spend money that doesn't exist, raise taxes (directs or

What's the irony? There's certainty less difference than I'd like there to be, but to say there's no difference is demonstrably false.

The difference is that Dems want socialism today and Republicans are ok with waiting until tomorrow.

Squidboy you make great sense here. I may have to consider myself an independent now.

My thought? The Dems want a nanny state they control. GOP wants a .1% plutocracy that turns us all into wage slaves. If you are one of the 60% of people who have to work for a living, neither party wholly represents you.
