Poverty is the fault of...
Life is what you make it.
In North Korea, primarily society. In America, primarily individuals.
Who could have guessed that a majority of Democrats and delusional Independents (who are really Democrats) who excuse personal choice?
Depends on circumstances. In a free open capitalist society it's mostly your own choice (your parents etc counts too). Opposite in a socialist country like China or Venezuela it's mostly about being born into the right family, being at the right
..place at the right time.
Poverty is caused by the economic system and leadership. Clearly some individual choices may, at times, play factor, but hard working people all over the world are impoverished right now through no fault of their own.
Poverty is perpetuated by lazy people who make bad choices.
That's simply false. It's a foolish stereotype.
Except it's true. I started dirt poor, and watched the lazy around me learn to mooch while I learned to change my situation.
Poverty, in whatever form, will exist in every society. Period. That's how life works. Individual poverty is primarily an individual case of cause and effect, though the life one is born into plays a role as well.
Ok, and in the U.S., we can be born dirt poor, and die filthy rich. It comes down to personal choice.
Oh I understand that, believe me, but there is a correlation between personal success and, say, your parents' education or income.
Wolf ... not always. My parent was uneducated, I determined myself not to continue the cycle of poverty and ignorance.
The problem is in large part do to learned behaviors like laziness and ignorance.
It's a trend. Not an always, just a sometimes. Nicely done being one of those who beat it.
Wolf ... having been there and having beat it leaves me FAR less sympathetic with those who choose to stay in poverty.
They chose drugs and the gangster lifestyle, and now want handouts.
Both but predominantly personal responsibility
