That's it for this week's Science Friday. How did these platypus questions treat you? They're creatures that happen to be exceptions to a good number of trends, and I thought that'd be interesting.

2/3, I missed their stomach. Apparently, they did, too.

Can I make a suggestion for next week's topic? Have you done one on genetic engineering? I think that'd be really interesting.

I thought I knew everything about my platypus, but I got a question wrong. What else don't I know about him...?

Speaking of the guy, where's Perry?

Awesome series, firefly!! Thank you! The boys and I just brushed up on our platypus facts last week, so my 3/3 sort of feels like cheating, but I'm totally happy. We just thought it was cool that their fur is plum colored, not teal like Agent P.

Got them all! Very interesting creatures. I thought one of the most unusual things about them is that they actually have genes that can be traced to reptiles, birds, and mammals. That must have been some kind of party, way back when.

Semi-aquatic, egg-laying, venomous, otter-footed, beaver-tailed, duck-billed, nipple-less mammal... of action.

I sent this pic to my mom today, and she was all like... What are those? I didn't think they'd be so small. Oh, how cute! And that one is sticking up his foot just like your brother did! Oh how wonderful! Baby Perrys. Did you show this to Giovanni?
