Lol, Hawaii! ;)

"Have you seen any wild coconut trees in the past 12 months?"
^Hawaii explodes in a huge, red unison of the same answer: "yes!"

I'm glad you mentioned that.

Itsmith- if true, why not open up the deer/elk permits?

I took a picture of a fawn I saw while on a hike. He seemed as interested in me as I was in him.

Living out in the middle of nowhere I see them daily.

The Aleutian islands and the island of Kodiak have white tail deer and the southwest of Alaska has black tail deer.

We must have a bunch of idiots here now. Everyone in Alaska has seen a deer. Moose are the largest in the deer family. We do not have elk here. Yesterday I saw a large bull moose walking through downtown Anchorage. There is no place you could live in Alaska and not see a member of the deer family.

@EarlyBird, that yes count is not awesome, far too many deer.

It is not awesome, there are far too many deer around here. They have no natural predators here in WV. They cause too many deaths from hitting cars and it's always sad to see them in the city's limits.

08/04/12 9:59 pm

I did live in Minnesota and saw one almost every day

Are you kidding me? In this neck of the woods, there's deer tracks in the snow in our yard pretty much every day.

How bout 12 deer in the last week? They are like enormous bugs extorting corn or they will eat all our flowers. We've even named some of the more recognizable ones. pretty though. We like them.

Lolnope Somewhere silly

They regularly wander through my backyard. In fact, there's one out there right now!

I guess because of the drought I have seen a lot more deer over the summer. They must be out searching for water sources or having to travel farther for water.

Moved 12 miles from Gettysburg to a rural area about two years ago. In Gettysburg we saw almost no deer. But now we probably see a dozen on a daily basis.

When it says in the wild, it doesn't mean on a highway...

08/04/12 4:38 am

There are no deer in the desert.

08/04/12 3:48 am

No deer here my friend. We have more awesome creatures to deal with.

08/04/12 1:04 am

I usually see at least one every 2 weeks

Not in the past months but about 4 years ago I encountered a key deer on Big Pine Key.
Those are like regular white tail deer just smaller. Just come up to your chest.
And are very tame.

In the wild, probably as in not in the metropolitan cities. Many states probably don't have to worry about that.

April, I think. Running through the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth while I was playing with my dog.
It's close enough to the wild.
