Are you stronger and healthier than you were five years ago?
Five years ago I had been newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Definitely doing better since then. Blood sugars better, and I gained back the weight I had lost. I've even almost completely made up for the one to two year constitutional growth delay I suffered!
Only cause I was 10 5 years ago.
Well...5 years ago, I was 12. I wanted to be a vampire, so I refused to sleep. I hardly ate anything, and I lost a ton of weight. I had bags under my eyes and wore black eyeliner to cover it up. Have my parents quite a fright, haha. So, yeah, I guess I'm healthier now. :)
At my worst I was 99 pounds at 5 feet 9 inches
Was diagnosed with Crohns disease two years ago. Been a struggle ever since. Lost weight and struggle to eat. I also had to stop playing hockey which hurt the most. Luckily I have been having luck with natural medicine and hopefully my answer to this question will change in the next year :)
Ya but considering I'm 15 I'd be concerned to say otherwise!
Zod, I've notice your post all on show of hand and just wanted to say good job. All of post are really introspective and meaningful. Your making show of hands a better place. Thank you.
Yes, I am. Though that might have something to do with the fact that I was 10 five years ago...
Considering I'm in bed with Chicken Pox......No.
Here I thought that marathon in your screen name meant you worked in the oilfield????
i dont think this question is particularly accurate cause were all at different phases oflife. i was early 20s now im late 20s.
So, either you're the one birthed them, or you have a severe phobia against the sight of kids while exercising.
Very nice Dr. Banner
Much healthier. 5 yrs. ago I was still teaching public school, stressed to the Max. Now I am happier and I eat more whole foods.
Turning 30 a couple years ago really put my mortality into perspective for some reason, that spurred me to eat better and exercise more often. I feel better than ever. I'm very fortunate to have a good job and good family.
I started an experimental regiment of gamma pills 5 years ago. Does wonders for your strength but the side affects can leave me feeling green.
No, but hopefully I will be 5 years from now.
Well, I lived in Indiana at the time an was sick half the time. So yes. Yes I am.
5 years ago I was 295 pounds and today I weigh 200 pounds exactly. I'm much better off now than I was then
Don't take your youth for granted kiddo. One day you'll be old and slow and not invincible (-:
Wow sorry to hear that
Poverty drug me to hell this year. Lost job, savings dried up and so did food. I'm 6 foot tall and weighed 118 pounds by the time I was able to find a new position. I still feel sick and will probably die 20 years early, which gives me just enough time to pay off student loans and enjoy none of it!
Easy! Four years sober :)
Long distance running FTW
Much healthier! Five years ago I was a raging anorexic starving myself to death. After intensive hospitalization, therapy, and a ton of hard work, I'm a healthy weight and back home with my family.
Wow great job!!
They suck and the treatments are all bad for you. Have had ra over 30 years. Terrible disease. I sympathize with you.
Lol love it! Same here.
Just older and wiser.
Government healthcare has improved my physical well being ten fold. (Sarcasm Alert)
I had a very difficult pregnancy I gained a lot of weight my blood pressure went crazy and I swelled up slowly I'm getting to my normal size but it's taking awhile
Goodness, hope you have a speedy recovery!
Wow! Way to go! :)
That's amazing! :)
Whoa! Good for you! :)
5 years ago I was 250 lbs and couldn't run, much less walk around the block. Today I vary between 185-190 lbs, ran 4 marathons and 8 half marathons last year and this year am training for a 50 miler and 100 miler.
Thank you so much, Ray.
5 years ago I was not yet a teenager so...huh. Yeah.
No, since last May the chronic kidney disease I've had for 10 years began getting rapidly worse. The week after Thanksgiving I started dialysis.
Crap what were u doing?
I'm five years older - I guess that's a good thing.
Up until about a year ago my health was in remission and I was able to get more exercise, so no definitely not.
Count me in JLove, I'll include you in my prayers and hope for great things ahead. Stess sucks and can't lick you with all of us behind you.
It was. I had complications from hemochromatosis and mixing it unknowing with Tylenol thinking I had a bad flu caused acute liver failure. I was so young so no one really thought I was in danger until my eyes started rolling into the back of my head. I'm happy yu had such a caring friend Susan
Stronger- physically, emotionally, mentally
Sadly no. Five years ago I was a beast who worked out a lot more. But I also eat healthier now, but weigh more. Need to combine both!
Yes. Five years ago, I was 34 and recovering from major back surgery. Today I'm healthy and mostly pain free!
